On Monday of this past week I had to get a treatment done to help with an issue I have been having with my leg. I was told it wasn’t a big deal and I should be able to go about my daily business without to much of a problem. Wrong! I have run into some unusual complications and have been limping around all week and have been in more pain then when I broke my foot a year ago. Last night I got to the point that I wondered how I was going to keep giving every day and blogging about it. I was ready to pack it in. We tend to think giving takes time, energy and more time and more energy but today I was determined to find something I could do from the comfort of my arm chair. The perfect ‘give’ hit me as I was catching up on my tweets for the week. I could donate a tweet!

Day 187: Give 187

We all have times in our life when we just don’t think we can do even one more thing. I have discovered this week that pain drives much of that feeling. I usually have more energy to burn that rocket ship but add a big hit of pain into your day and everything changes. You wonder how you will just make it to bed time. Then you come across a child like Mary Margaret and you know you have to find a way to keep giving.

My give today is simple but I feel as though I am helping a great cause. Something we all can do any day of the week. I’m trying my best to make giving simple for you! In 2008 Mary Margaret (9 years old) asked her Dad to help her build a website so she could help animals (what was I doing at that age!) Her Dad added “Why not do something to help the environment too?” Today their website is called Kids Are Heroes. Here is their mission:

“Kids Are Heroes® is a non-profit that empowers, encourages and inspires children to become leaders through volunteerism and community involvement. We do this by showcasing and supporting children who are changing the world through their selfless acts of giving.”

Talk about changing the world and inspiring the youth of today. Wow, I’m in ahhhhh! Just by spreading the world with one tweet I am hoping I will be able to be part of the campaign that will inspire kids to change the world. I have said it over and over – it’s my generation and those before me that have create so much disaster and it is the next generation that will help undo much of the mess we have created. If we can encourage and support the youth of today the world will be a better place tomorrow. The youth will grow and become a group of adults that are aware, giving, supportive and willing to do what it takes to change he world.

One tweet. Be the change you want to see in the world today.
