365give launched on a simple premise: One person wanted to create positive change in a world; One person wanted to leave a legacy of giving; One person wanted to create a movement that would mobilize people to give back every day of their lives.
- 365give is simply an online diary of one woman’s actions and impact in changing the world every day for 365days.
- 365give has the potential to create a movement of giving and a community of committed “givers” that can educate and inspire future generations.
But for this to really make a difference – I need you.
Imagine if everyone did one thing everyday for the next 365 days.
We would be the change, we would have a better world.
Hi my name is Jacqueline and I’m an addict – to giving. My husband tells me that I just don’t know how to say no to people. I think Oprah did a show on this topic once. I have decided to take my addiction and turn it into something that will help change the world one day at a time. I’m not a millionaire, I’m not a writer, I had never been into Twitter before, or Facebook, or YouTube and this is my first blog. What I do have is a passion for giving and I have a 3- year old little boy that inspires me to make the world a better place.
Some days it will be as simple as taking a few minutes to give a friend an ear or a hug, some days a homeless person a coffee and bagel or a kind word. Some days it may be picking up garbage in the local park and some days its volunteering my time at a soup kitchen.
Giving comes in all shapes and sizes. Some GIVES are really big and some GIVES take just a few minutes of our time. I recently told a friend I wanted to change the world and he had a good chuckle. He asked me if I could make my goal any bigger. I told him I wouldn’t be alone, if I do one thing every day and you do one thing every day and everyone does just one thing every day, we’ve done it. We have changed the world. So, I know I’m not alone out there. I know there are other people wondering how they can make a difference in the world. So do this with me. Make the commitment to give. I will share with both the simple things and the tough things I do every day. I will add links to organizations that may interest you and ideas on ways you can give as well.
